Support for Rescues and Shelters in Pima County

to Showcase Their Longtimers, Overlooked or Harder to Place Animals

Many shelters and rescues in Pima county take animals most at risk, and often these animals are harder to place and have a greater length of stay e.g. seniors, those with medical or behavioral needs, breeds/sizes that are restricted in some residential areas, feral, fearful and other dogs and cats that have more special considerations. We applaud their commitment to saving and helping these animals, and we want them to continue to do so.

Often a kennel in a shelter or foster home is tied up longer and they sometimes can’t take others until those they already have find a permanent solution. The sooner that happens, the sooner they can help others. So we hope that together, with you, we can help make that happen sooner rather than later.

Today, we are kicking off an initiative aptly named “Worthy and Waiting,” and will start showcasing some of Pima County rescues and shelters’ harder to place, overlooked or long-timer rescued animal in the “Worthy and Waiting” album on facebook and will also feature the album on savethesaveable.com.

Here’s where all of you come in and can help make a BIG difference…. When you see animals in this album and featured in the Waiting and Worthy campaign, know that these are animals that the shelters and rescues really need your help with sharing and creating visibility to help them get out sooner. That way when we ask them to help another, they will be in a better position to say yes. They work so hard to help these animals and taking a moment to share them on your own page and with your groups, networks, NextDoor etc. is an act of great support for the animals. Lets all act as “boosters” to help them, help those in greatest need!

Together we can help save more.
