YOU ARE NEEDED. If you support funding PACC to save more lives rather than destroy them, your presence is needed at the county board of supervisor budget hearing Tuesday 5.12.15 at 1:30pm at 130 W. Congress St. to discuss the next budget for 2015/2016. Please wear your PACC volunteer shirt or any shirt showing support of animals. No Kill Pima County will provide signs to hold to also show your support. More information can be found below about the hearing and a link to the proposed budget.

The County is holding public hearings to review the budget proposals of all Departments, and receive feedback from the community. The hearing for PACC will occur on Tuesday May 12, 1:30 to 4:00pm at 130 West Congress.

Budget and financial impacts are still being negotiated so your input is still highly needed. We need to continue to support Pima County with their goal of “saving the savable” and supporting the associated costs necessary to ensure this happens.

The requested expenditure budget for PACC for FY15-16 is almost $9 million. Of that, PACC is expected to generate revenue of about $6,500,000 (through adoptions, licensing, and contracts with jurisdictions and others), and the remainder of needed funds is either a subsidy from the General fund for about $2,000,000, or any remaining funds in the PACC fund balance.

This is an increase in funding, while nearly all other Departments are budgeting cuts in their budget. If you are interested in the details of the budget, the link below will take you to the materials that have been submitted to the BOS for fiscal year 15/16. Most of PACC details are on pages 212- 214
