Friends of Pima Animal Care Center is providing a limited number of free appointment slots available for owned cats needing spay/neuter services.

FRIENDS OF PACC Spay/Neuter Support Program for Dogs

Qualifying Pima County families can have their dogs spayed or neutered for just $35 at participating veterinary clinics. 

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must live in Pima County
  • Dog must be 30 lbs. or larger, or a puppy expected to reach that size at maturity
  • Proof of Eligibility (one required):
    • AHCCCS card
    • EBT card
    • Tribal enrollment paperwork
    • Proof of child enrollment in the National School Lunch Program
    • Proof of residence in ZIP codes 85705, 85706, 85713, 85735, 85736, 85746, or 85756

Spay and Neuter

Clinics may offer additional services such as vaccination, microchipping, nail trims, testing (heartworm, FIV/felv) and even dental cleanings. Some are full service clinics.

Some clinics have additional charges  when pet  “in heat” or  pregnant, additional pain medication, protective e-collars, undescended testicles etc.

Check their websites or call for their hours of operation and a list of services and fees. And ask about age/weight requirements and other pertinent information.

  • Pet Care Tucson– 7861 N. Oracle. 520-447-7707.  Visits start at $35. Full service clinic. Call for prices. May 2026 prices: Cat neuter $60, Cat spay $80, Dog neuter starts at $125, Dof spay starts at $125. Off ice visit prior to surgery required.
  • AZ Affordable Pet Care – 2706 N. Silverbell, Ste 140 – (520)  372-2628.  Call for prices. Full Service Vet care.
  • Friends Community Pet Clinic  – 2661 N. First Ave.  –  (520) 748-6068 .  Call for more info or for an appointment.  Low cost spay/neuter and vaccines are  available to the those who qualify, including all pets adopted thru Pima Animal Care Center.
  • PUP Outreach is a free monthly mobile clinic for the unhoused individuals and families on governmnt assistance.   Basic veterinary services for dogs and cats.  Flea, tick, dermatitis, heartworm care.  Wellness exams, Vaccines, Spay/neuter appointments (subject to availability).  Pet food & supplies.  Protective paw booties.  Each month, we show up in a different part of Tucson to meet the need — no questions, just care.   • Arizona Spay/Neuter Clinic – 4 W. Grant Road (at Stone) – (520) 624-5005  – prices available on website
  • ABC Pet Care Clinic 1114 S Craycroft (520) 745-4564  & 10185 E Old Vail Rd (520) 495-5721
  • Eastside Pet Clinic – 7036 E Broadway Blvd. (at Kolb) (520) 731-1714 – 
    Their spay/neuter rates are slightly higher, especially for larger dogs, but they offer full service care and serve the East side. Vaccines are mandatory here. If you can not show proof of current vaccines they will require them at the time of surgery.
