If you are experiencing financial hardship and feeding your pet(s) has become a challenge, consider these options for short term assistance. This page includes information about organizations that provide free pet food in Pima County and if they have any requirements for you to receive the assistance. Some sites may have supplies as well as food. It is always a good idea to call first and make sure the location has food available the day you want to pick it up.

Humane Society of Southern Arizona – Main Shelter

Provides pet food and pet supply coupons to owners, fosters, feral colony caretakers, rescues and shelters.


** Another possibility: The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona provides help to low income families. They provide one food box per month for your entire family and they will include pet food when they have it available. You do not have to prove your income. You just need a photo ID and sign a form stating your income is less than a certain amount. You can call the food bank locations nearest you to see if pet food is available (depends on the donations they received).  For eligibility guidelines and locations of the food pantries click here:
